New Delhi. There is great news for the customers of State Bank of India. If you are a State Bank (SBI) customer or opening a new account, then you can take the benefit of Rs 2 lakh. SBI is giving free insurance up to Rs 2 lakh to its customers. Actually, the bank is giving this facility to the account holders of Jan Dhan Accounts. SBI offers free accidental insurance cover of up to Rs 2 lakh to customers who have RuPay debit cards. Those using RuPay Debit Card get death insurance, purchase protection cover and other benefits. Jan Dhan Account account holders can avail free insurance.

The personal accident policy under this plan also covers the incident that happened outside India. The claim will be paid in Indian Rupees as per the sum insured on submission of required documents. The beneficiary can become a nominee in the account of the cardholder or legal heir as per the order of the court.

Accidental cover benefit of up to Rs 2 lakh will be available on RuPay cards issued after August 28, 2018.
