Accenture Layoffs: IT consulting company Accenture has eliminated more than 11,000 jobs worldwide in just three months. The company predicted more layoffs in the coming months, announcing this during the release of its quarterly results. The layoffs are part of a restructuring program underway to address Accenture’s growing focus on artificial intelligence (AI).

Accenture recently announced an $865 million (approximately Rs. 7,669 crores) restructuring program to transform the company’s workflows to accommodate the increasing use of AI. The company’s global employee count was 791,000 at the beginning of this year. By the end of August 2025, it was projected to decrease to 779,000.

How much did Accenture spend on layoffs?

Accenture follows a September-August fiscal year, meaning its fiscal year 2025 ended on August 31. According to earnings for the June-August 2025 quarter, severance packages and related expenses paid to employees affected by layoffs reached $615 million. This amount is expected to increase by another $250 million in the current quarter, September-November 2025. The company is expected to achieve cost savings of over $1 billion upon completion of the restructuring. Layoffs may continue until November 2025.

Accenture’s Q4 Revenue

Accenture’s revenue grew 7 percent year-on-year to $17.60 billion in the June-August 2025 quarter, or the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025. Accenture’s severance costs reached $344 million in fiscal year 2025. Accenture is increasing its focus on AI. The company now has 77,000 AI and data experts, nearly double the number from two years ago.
