Lok Sabha Elections: These services will remain closed on the day of voting in Delhi, check list

The sale of liquor has been banned in Delhi 48 hours before voting. No liquor shops will remain open in the national capital for two days including the day of voting. Apart from this, Delhi Metro and DTC bus services will start earlier than normal on Saturday to assist voters on polling day. Lok Sabha elections in Delhi: What is closed on May 25?

As per the orders issued by the Election Commission of India, all liquor shops and other licensed premises in Delhi will remain closed from 6 pm on May 23 to 6 pm on May 25 for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections. The situation is similar for the cities of Faridabad and Gurugram near Delhi. Sale of liquor will not be allowed in the capital Delhi on June 4.

Banks and schools will remain closed

Schools and educational institutions in the national capital will also remain closed on the day of voting due to heat wave conditions in the city. Apart from this, banks will remain closed on the fourth Saturday of the month i.e. 25th May.

Lok Sabha elections in Delhi: What will be open?

Essential services such as hospitals, pharmacies and public transport will operate normally on May 25. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced that metro train services will start at 4 am on Saturday on all routes to assist voters on polling day. Delhi Transport Corporation announced that it will run additional bus services on 35 routes across Delhi from 4 am on May 25. Commercial establishments like shops, restaurants and malls will remain open on voting day in Delhi. The seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha elections will be held on June 1 and the results will be declared on June 4.
