LPG cylinder will be available for just 500 rupees without any paper mess, you can buy it

Shorter cylinders of the IOC are proving to be helpful for people shifting from one place to another, young professionals and people with weak incomes.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has launched a 5 kg “Chhotu” cylinder in December last year. People are getting a lot of help with this. Also, it has got a good response.




The price of 14.2 kg cylinder is currently Rs 835, in such a way Indian Oil has kept the price of this short cylinder at Rs 500. This cylinder brings 5 kg of gas. However, it is slightly more expensive than conventional cylinders.

No booking

The special thing about this cylinder is that you do not have to make a traditional booking for it and do not have to wait for a day or two. For this, you just have to go to the LPG dealer and buy a small cylinder from there.

For this, you have to bring your identity card. You do not have to provide any security deposit or address proof.

When the cylinder is empty, you can get refill from any distributor across the country. An IOC official said, “Chhotu has been launched keeping in mind the needs of particular segments like migrant laborers. For this you will not need your address proof. This will benefit the young professionals and the corona affected families with low consumption of LPG. It has become a hit within three months. ”

Where to buy

Chhotu is available in almost every district of the country. You can buy it from Indane distributors in your area, point of sale at Indian Oil outlets, grocery stores and even supermarkets.

If you have bought the cylinder from the point of sale, then the customers will also have the option to give it back at Rs 500 per cylinder.

Customers can also deliver these cylinders at home through point of sale. However, for this they will have to pay a delivery charge of Rs 25 per refill.

Beneficial for low earners

An IOC official said that this 5 kg cylinder is more popular among low-income sections. Also, it has popularity among young professionals and singles as these people do not need the traditional 14.2 kg cylinder.

After its launch in December 2020, till March, the IOC had sold around 92 lakh such cylinders.
