LTC Special Cash Package: Deadline of LTC Special Cash Package Scheme increased, know how long you can deposit the bill

The central government has decided to extend the LTC Special Cash Package Scheme (Extended Deadline) from April 30, in view of the second wave of corona virus. Earlier, the center had increased its deadline from 31 March to 30 April 2021. Employees of the central and state as well as employees of the private sector will also benefit from the scheme.




New Delhi. In the midst of the Corona crisis, the Center has given good news to the Government employees by extending the duration of the LTC Special Cash Package Scheme (Extended Deadline). Center has extended the deadline of the scheme till 31 May 2021. In other words, if the central government employees can submit all the bills by 31 May 2021. Earlier, the center extended the deadline of the scheme by one month to 30 April 2021. The Department of Expenditure (DoE) of the Ministry of Finance has already released its office memorandum. Bills will not be accepted if this happens

The Central Government has made it clear that the payment date in the bill should be by 31 March 2021. In simple terms, the purchase done by the central employees to take advantage of the scheme should not be done after 31 March 2021. If this happens, the bills will not be accepted. It is clear that increasing the deadline of the scheme will give a big benefit to the employees who were not able to submit the bills in time to claim due to the second wave of Corona virus (Covid-19 Second Wave).

who will get the benefit of this scheme

Due to Kovid-19, people had to change their travel plans. A large number of employees were also unable to take advantage of Leave Travel Allowance (LTA), which is part of their salary structure. In view of this, the central government announced the LTC Cash Voucher Scheme on October 12, 2020. Under this, central government employees could avail the scheme by 31 March 2021 by purchasing 12% and above GST services or goods. On 29 October 2020, the Center expanded the scope of the scheme to include employees other than central employees. These employees include state government, PSUs, banks and private sector employees. It has a tax exemption like LTA. This also brought relief to the employees of the private sector.
