e-Shram portal: The government has developed the e-Shram (e-Shram) portal, which was launched only last month, with the intention of creating a national database for the welfare of crores of unorganized workers. The Ministry of Labor and Employment said on Thursday that more than 27 lakh unorganized workers have been registered on this portal.

According to the statement of the ministry, various camps are being organized for the registration of unorganized workers on the e-shram portal. One such camp was organized at Shram Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi on Thursday. In this building, a camp was organized for the registration of unorganized workers working in various ministries.

The ministry said in a statement that more than 80 workers are expected to register on the portal on Thursday in the camp. Inaugurating the camp, Minister of State for Labor and Employment and Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameshwar Teli asked everyone to spread information about the portal to maximum people and to inform about the benefits to the workers who register on the portal. .

The minister said that creating a national database of all unorganized workers would help the government in formulating welfare schemes for the unorganized workers and extending benefits to them.

Teli described the e-shram portal as a game-changer portal. This portal was launched last month under the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that till date more than 27 lakh unorganized workers have been registered and the Government of India is actively cooperating with all the state governments and other stakeholders to register the workers on the portal.

The government wants to register more than 38 crore unorganized workers under this portal and plans to link them with Aadhaar.

Registration under the e-shram portal is completely free and workers do not have to pay anything for their registration at Common Service Centers (CSCs), or regional offices of the state government. They can also register directly through the e-SHRAM portal eshram.gov.in.
