New Education Policy: Big News! Central Government gave a big update regarding the age limit for admission in schools; Check details immediately

New Education Policy With the commencement of the admission process in schools, the Center has again suggested to all the states and union territories to keep the age limit for admission in Kindergarten and first class the same. Under this, the age limit for admission in Kindergarten has been asked to be more than three years and the age limit for admission in first class has been kept at six years.

New Delhi. With the commencement of the admission process in schools, the Center has again suggested all the states and union territories to keep the age limit for admission in Kindergarten and Class 1 the same. Under this, the age limit for admission in Kindergarten has been asked to be more than three years and the age limit for admission in first class has been kept at six years.

The Center has given this instruction to the states when at present the age of entry into first class is different in many states. At the same time, there was no age limit for admission to the kindergarten classes included in the structure of school education. In the states where this system was in force, they were giving admission in their own way. The Ministry of Education took the initiative for the first time after the implementation of the new National Education Policy to keep the age of entry in the first class at six years.

Karnataka, Gujarat accepted the suggestions of the ministry

However, after this, many states like Karnataka, Gujarat and Assam accepted the ministry’s suggestions to keep the age limit of admission the same. It was also agreed to implement it in a phased manner in the next few years. Meanwhile, after the inclusion of Bal Vatika in the framework of school education, the Ministry has asked the states to follow the age limit during admission also.

In 22 states the limit for admission to first class is six years.

According to the Ministry of Education, at present the age limit for admission in first class in about 22 states and union territories including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar is already six years, while in about 14 states including Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi and Kerala the age limit for admission in first class is already six years. His age was five to five and a half years. However, following the initiative of the Ministry for the last two years, many states like Gujarat, Karnataka, Assam have taken the initiative to make it six years like other states.

These states are adamant about the age of admission

At the same time, states like Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh are still adamant on keeping the age of admission in first class at five or five and a half years. School education has been transformed from the 10 plus 2 structure to 5 plus 3 plus 3 plus 4. The first five years of this framework have been named the foundational stage.

Therefore, the emphasis is on bringing uniformity in the age of entry.

The Ministry believes that the different age limit for admission in class 1 across states is a major anomaly in school education. This creates errors in the calculation of enrollment ratio. Along with this, the second biggest brunt of this has to be borne by those children whose parents are in such jobs, which keep shifting from one state to another.

In such a situation, due to non-uniform age limit, they face difficulty in admission. Apart from this, they face disadvantages in applying for many competitive examinations including admission in higher educational institutions.
