The Haryana government has approved to make the Hodal-Nuh-Pataudi-Patoda road in Palwal, Nuh and Gurugram districts 4 lanes for 71 km i.e. Hodal-Nuh-Tawadu-Bilaspur road. It is estimated to cost Rs 616 crore. This decision was taken in the Standing Finance Committee meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini.

Officials from the Finance Department, PWD (B&R), Energy Department and Housing for All Department, including PWD (B&R) Minister Ranbir Gangwa, were also present in the meeting.

The proposed change will also benefit many villages located on this route. The Chief Minister directed the Housing for All Department to provide 100 square yard plots to all eligible families under the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme. It was told that more than 5 lakh persons have applied for plots under this scheme.

Instructions to expedite projects

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the Public Works Department (B&R) officials to make changes in the tender allocation process and said that the department should make necessary changes in the online bidding process so that unnecessary delays in development projects due to contractors leaving the project or being disqualified after receiving tenders through online medium can be removed. He suggested that under the new system, if the L-1 (lowest bidder) leaves the project midway for any reason, the contract should be automatically given to the L-2 bidder, who completes the work at the prescribed rates. He said that this will significantly improve the pace of work and ensure that all projects are completed without unnecessary delay.
