Bank Holiday: Banks are set to remain closed once again tomorrow, April 15. Today, banks in most states are closed due to festivals such as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Maha Bishu Sankranti, Biju, Tamil New Year’s Day, Bohag Bihu, Cheiraoba, and Baisakhi. Now, tomorrow—Wednesday—bank branches will not open in the majority of states across the country either. If you are planning to visit a bank branch tomorrow to carry out tasks such as depositing checks, drafts, or cash, please verify beforehand whether banks are open in your specific state. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has declared bank holidays in various states on account of local festivals.

Banks to Remain Closed Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 15

On April 15, banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh due to New Year celebrations and other festivals. The Bengali New Year (Poila Boishakh), Bohag Bihu, and Vishu are festivals celebrated in different states across the country. These festivals are observed to mark the arrival of the New Year and the harvest season. In West Bengal, on the day of the Bengali New Year, people wear new clothes to make an auspicious start to the year. In Assam, Bohag Bihu is a festival celebrating agriculture and prosperity.

Banks Closed in Several States Today, Tuesday, April 14

On Tuesday, April 14, banks are scheduled to remain closed in almost all states on account of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahabishub Sankranti, Biju, Buisu Festival, Tamil New Year’s Day, Bohag Bihu, Cheiraoba, and Baisakhi. Today, banks are closed in states such as Gujarat, Assam, UP, Kerala, Kolkata, Jammu, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Bihar, Goa, Karnataka, Hyderabad, and others.

During the month of April, banking services will be impacted on April 16 due to Bihu; on April 20 in Karnataka due to Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya; and on April 21 in Tripura due to Garia Puja.
