Under this scheme, every four months, three installments of Rs two thousand each, ie Rs 6000, are added to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

The scheme was later revised in June 2019 and extended to all farming families irrespective of the size of their land. The central government had decided to give a benefit of Rs 6,000 per year to all 14.5 crore farmers in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, irrespective of the size of their land.
The government said on Wednesday that it has directly transferred more than Rs 1.15 lakh crore to the bank accounts of more than 10.75 crore farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. Addressing a function on the occasion of the second anniversary of PM-Kisan, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government has asked the states to ensure that all eligible farmers get the benefit of this flagship program. Tomar said that so far 10.75 crore farmers have benefitted from this scheme and the Center has disbursed more than 1.15 lakh crore rupees directly into the bank accounts of farmers.
