PM Yashasvi Yojana: The Central Government’s PM YASHASVI Yojana has emerged as a major source of relief for students across the country who are compelled to discontinue their studies midway due to financial constraints. This scheme has been launched specifically with students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified and Nomadic Tribes (DNT) in mind. The objective of this scheme is to ensure that financial weakness does not become a barrier to any student’s education. Under this initiative, the government provides scholarships to eligible students, enabling them to pursue their school education without facing any financial pressure.

Students studying in top-tier schools—and those who consistently achieve a 100% success rate in their board examinations—fall directly within the purview of this scheme. Through these scholarships, expenses such as school fees, textbooks, and all other education-related costs can be easily covered. In this way, the scheme paves a smoother path for students in their academic journey. Under this scheme, the Central Government provides a scholarship amount of up to ₹1.25 lakh. Furthermore, depending on the specific category, students are eligible to receive coverage for school and college fees of up to ₹2 lakh, and are even provided with laptops.

Who Can Apply for the PM YASASVI Scheme?

There are specific criteria for applying to the PM YASASVI Scheme. First and foremost, the student must belong to the OBC, EBC, or DNT community. Additionally, the family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. The student must be enrolled in Class 9 or 11, and their school’s board must have consistently delivered 100% results. Students who fulfill all these conditions are eligible to apply.

How to Apply?

Students in Class 9 receive a scholarship of ₹75,000, while students in Class 11 receive ₹1.25 lakh. To apply, first visit the official NTA website and select the ‘Register’ option. On the new page, create an account by entering your personal details, such as your name, email address, date of birth, and password. After completing the registration, download the PDF document; it will contain your application number. The scholarship amount is transferred directly into the beneficiary’s bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). This online process is entirely secure and transparent.
