Public Holidays: Over 30 public holidays declared this year, all administrative offices, banks and colleges to remain closed

Public Holiday: All government offices, schools and colleges will remain closed on January 15 due to public holiday.

Public Holidays: Panjab University has issued a notification for more than 30 public holidays for this year. These holidays will apply to the university’s administrative offices, teaching departments, and affiliated colleges. Instructions have also been issued for Saturdays and Sundays, and special festivals such as Raksha Bandhan, Bhai Dooj, and Karva Chauth. Employees will also be granted restricted leave to participate in religious processions.

Public Holidays: Panjab University (PU) has issued a notification regarding public holidays for this year. These holidays will apply to the university’s administrative offices, teaching and non-teaching departments, and affiliated colleges. The PU administration issued the notification on Tuesday.

PU offices and departments will be closed on all Saturdays and Sundays, while affiliated colleges will be closed only on Sundays. University offices will open at 11 am on Raksha Bandhan and Bhai Dooj. Female employees will be allowed to leave the office at 2 pm on Karva Chauth. Employees have also been given the option to avail half-day restricted leave to participate in religious processions.

Holidays will be observed on these dates:

  • January 26 – Republic Day
  • February 1 – Guru Ravidas Jayanti
  • February 15 – Mahashivratri
  • March 4 – Holi
  • March 21 – Eid al-Fitr
  • March 23 – Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh
  • March 26 – Ram Navami
  • March 31 – Mahavir Jayanti
  • April 3 – Good Friday
  • April 14 – Baisakhi and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti
  • May 27 – Eid al-Adha
  • August 15 – Independence Day
  • October 2 – Gandhi Jayanti
  • October 19-20 – Dussehra
  • November 8-9 – Diwali
  • November 24 – Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti
  • December 25 – Christmas

Holidays will also be observed on other holidays.
