IRCTC: Even after chart preparation, you can cancel the ticket and get refund through TDR. We are going to explain its process in detail in this article.
You cannot cancel the confirmed ticket after the train chart is prepared. Due to this, it is very difficult to get a refund, but you can apply for a refund by filing the option Ticket Deposit Receipt i.e. TDR with proper reason provided by the Railways. However, refund under TDR entirely depends on the Zonal Railway Division Officer whether he will accept the reason given by you or not and how much refund will be given.
According to the information given on the IRCTC website, users who want to cancel their confirmed tickets after chart preparation can file TDR and track their application through the website.
When can TDR be filed?
To file TDR, first you have to cancel your confirmed ticket. If you have taken an e-ticket then it will have to be canceled online only. Then after that TDR will have to be filed. At the same time, if you have taken an e-ticket from the ticket counter, then you will have to go there and cancel it. After this you can easily track the application by filing TDR.
