School Holiday: There’s important news for school students. Due to hailstorms, rain, and cold, district administrations in nine districts of Uttarakhand, one each in Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and two in Uttar Pradesh have declared a holiday on January 28, 2026. District magistrates have issued orders in this regard.

Holidays declared in these districts of Uttarakhand.

  • Due to snowfall and heavy rain, a holiday has been declared on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in all government, non-government, and private schools (classes 1 to 12) and Anganwadi centers in the districts of Pauri, Almora, Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Udham Singh Nagar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Tehri Garhwal, and Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand.
  • The order also states that prior permission from the Chief Education Officer is mandatory for conducting any educational activity related to studies, practicals, or pre-board examinations for classes 10 and 12. All tehsils and related departments have been instructed to strictly enforce this order. Violation of this order may result in action under the Disaster Management Act 2005.
