Navratri and Dussehra Holiday: The Telangana government has released the schedule of Dussehra holidays for the academic year 2025. The government has released separate calendars for schools and junior colleges. These holidays will give students and teachers a chance to celebrate the festival with family.

Holidays for schools

Holidays start: Sunday, 21 September 2025

Holidays end: Friday, October 3, 2025

Total holidays: 13 days

Classes resume: Saturday, October 4, 2025

However, since October 4 is a Saturday, many students will not come to school on that day and will directly join classes on Monday, October 6. This means that children’s holidays may be longer.

Holidays for Junior Colleges

Holidays start: Sunday 28 September 2025

Holidays end: Sunday 5 October 2025

Total Holidays: 8 days

Classes resume: Monday 6 October 2025

Exam Schedule

All schools will have to complete the FA-2 (Formative Assessment-2) exams before the holidays. As soon as the break is over, students will have to prepare for SA-1 (Summative Assessment-1), which will be held from 24 to 31 October. The results will be declared by 6 November 2025.

Junior College Students

Students will have to prepare in a short time after the holidays as their half-yearly exams will be held from 10 to 15 November 2025. The Education Department has advised all schools and colleges to make their academic plans keeping in mind the holidays and exam schedule. Also, parents and students have been told that while enjoying the festival holidays, they should also keep in mind the preparation for the upcoming examinations.
