SSC CGL Tier 2 exam: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the exam dates for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 2 exam. According to the notification, the exam will be held on January 18 and 19, 2026, at designated centers across the country. Only those who passed the Tier 1 exam will be eligible to appear. The Tier 1 result was declared on December 18.
According to the schedule released by the Commission, the exams for English Language and Comprehension and General Awareness (Paper 1, Section 1), English Language, Comprehension and General Awareness (Paper 1, Section 2), Computer Knowledge (Paper 2, Section 3), and Statistics (Paper 2) will be held on January 18, 2026. The Skill Test (Paper 1, Section 4) will be held on January 19, 2026.
How many candidates will appear in the exam?
It should be noted that a total of 1,39,395 candidates will appear for the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam. However, the results of 49 candidates have been withheld due to some reason. The results of five candidates have not been declared due to a ban.
Exams will be held for this number of posts
The SSC CGL exam will be conducted for a total of 14,582 Group B and C posts. There will be three papers for these posts, each for different posts. Paper 1 is required for all candidates, Paper 2 for Junior Statistical Officer candidates, and Paper 3 for Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer candidates.
What is the CGL paper pattern?
Tier 2 Paper 1 is divided into three sections. The first section is for Mathematical Ability, consisting of 60 questions, carrying 180 marks. Section 2 includes English, Comprehension, and General Awareness. It consists of 70 questions totaling 210 marks. Section 3 will evaluate computer knowledge and data entry speed. Module 1 carries 20 marks, and Module 2 includes a data entry task without questions.
Paper 2 also requires focus
Paper 2 requires a focus on statistics. It has 100 questions, carrying 200 marks. However, Paper 3 includes General Studies, which will have 100 questions, carrying 200 marks.
