Cash payment stopped, now digital challan
The traffic cell announced on Wednesday that from March 1, traffic challans issued under the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules cannot be paid in cash. Now all challans will be settled only through online or digital means.
Initiative to promote digital payment
The aim of this decision is to simplify the challan payment process and encourage people to use digital payment. This will make transactions more transparent and faster.
Challan payment will be done in two ways
Under the new rules, two methods will be adopted for challan payment –
Payment by QR code – A QR code will be generated on the e-challan machine, which will be scanned by the drivers to make direct online payment.
Payment through online portal – Traffic rule violators will be given the facility to make payment through this official website.

The traffic cell has requested all drivers to keep this change in mind and use only the digital options given to pay the challan.
The transport department is already implementing digital payment
Digital payment is already mandatory in the enforcement section of the transport department and it has been implemented smoothly for the last few years. Now the traffic cell of Goa Police is also going to adopt this process. Due to which challan payment will become completely digital and this process will become more efficient and transparent.
