Lucknow. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has issued instructions to impose High Security Number Plate and color coded stickers on all vehicles in UP. The government has made them mandatory. Under this, first of all commercial vehicles in the state will have to install high security number plates. For this, the last date has been fixed for 15 April. At the same time, it has been made mandatory for private vehicles to install high security plates according to their number on different dates.
Overall, this process of high security number plate in private vehicles will run till July 15 next year. But, high security number plates are to be installed in all vehicles (private and commercial) of Delhi-NCR by April 15 this year.
April 15 deadline in Delhi-NCR districts
In the instructions issued by the government, it has been said that after considering the suggestions received by the Association of Registration Plates Manufacturers of India and the Transport Commissioner, a plan has been prepared. Under this, it is mandatory to install high security number plates in private vehicles of all districts of Delhi-NCR and commercial vehicles of all districts of Uttar Pradesh by April 15, 2021. After this, enforcement action will be taken against the vehicles concerned.
Separate dates for districts other than NCR
According to the unit number of vehicle registration on private vehicles in all other districts of UP except Delhi-NCR, dates for high security plates have been fixed. Under this, it will be compulsory to install high security registration plates and color coded stickers by July 15, 2021 on vehicles whose number is at the end of 0 or 1. At the same time, on private vehicles whose registration numbers are 2 and 3 at the end, till 15 October, those whose unit number is 4 or 5, till 15 January 2022, whose vehicles have 6 or 7 at the end of the number. , By 15 April 2022 and whose vehicle registration unit number is 8 or 9, it will be mandatory to get high security registration plate and color coded sticker by 15 July 2022. Action will be taken against vehicles which do not have high security plates after the due dates.
