Big News: If you also make online payments and use UPI, then there is big news for you because a big bank has informed that its service will remain closed for customers for the entire 4 hours.

UPI payment stop: Big news has come from the bank. For the entire 4 hours, you will not be able to avail UPI as well as many other banking services. So if you have to transfer money to anyone or make a bill payment, then plan accordingly. Know which bank it is and at what time its service will be closed.

From when to when will you not be able to use UPI?

HDFC Bank will keep its major digital services closed from 2:30 am to 6:30 am on Sunday, June 8. Many services will be closed for the bank’s customers for a major system upgrade.

These services of the bank will be affected

  • All UPI transactions for HDFC savings and current account holders
  • RuPay Credit Card UPI Payments issued by HDFC
  • HDFC Mobile Banking App UPI function
  • UPI transactions through third party apps integrated with HDFC
  • Merchant UPI payments through HDFC

Additional impact-

  • Restricted access to Netbanking, Mobile Banking, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS fund transfers
  • Account details, deposits, merchant payments

The bank has taken this decision for regular infrastructure upgrade to further improve stability and customer experience.

What should customers do now?

  • Plan bill payments and transfers before 2:30 pm on June 8.
  • Avoid scheduling recurring transactions like EMIs or subscriptions during the outage.

Be alert: The affected services also include mobile apps, netbanking, PayZapp, UPI apps and money transfers via IMPS, NEFT, RTGS.
