Churachandpur,: Churachandpur Police busted a fake driving licence racket here and recovered several forged licenses and RCs from the residence of one Ramkinlo Joute (56), son of (L) Amzathang of M Ramthar village, Churachandpur on Wednesday.
According to police report, a team led by Churachandpur police station OC inspector N Thangzamuan raided the house of the accused on Wednesday after receiving reports that he and some unknown associates have been issuing fake driving licences to people of the district for the past many months.
On reaching the house of Ramkinlo, he was not present, but his wife, son and daughter-in-law were present.
A search was conducted of the house during which the police recovered eight fake driving licenses issued in the name of DTO Chura- chandpur, three tampered driving licences, four driving licences along with three RCs including one with chip removed.
The recovered items were seized and a suo moto case was registered at Chu- rachandpur police station for further investigation.
