Gurugram News: Trial trials will be organized in Sadar Bazar

Gurugram The vehicle will be kept free for a week from 26 February as a trial to get rid of Sadar Bazaar from jam. People will walk on foot in this area. During this period, there will be a complete ban on the movement of vehicles.

For this, the Municipal Corporation has started the work of removing the street and encroachment from the main street of Sadar Bazar, Ramlila Ground and the streets adjoining Roshanpura and Sadar Bazar. Announcement by the municipal employees on Tuesday afternoon, shopkeepers were also informed about the event. Instructions were also given not to encroach on the road. If this test run by the Municipal Corporation is successful in a week, then it can be implemented permanently.




Municipal Corporation Gurugram is conducting various activities under the Streets for People Challenge launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India with partners at the national level. Under this, a week long walk test is being organized from 26 February in Sadar Bazar and a school zone near it. That is, motor vehicles will stop running in the 600 meter market lane along with the school zone.

The week-long event will be organized by Municipal Corporation Gurugram and Traffic Police Gurugram in association with WRI India and Rahgiri Foundation. For this, City Assembly, Desaria Associates, Saharti Development Practice Foundation and Studio Earthworm will also collaborate. Market users can experience various activities such as street theater, community exhibitions, and local art. Local history, local stories, traditional chaupal, songs, dance, street art, shopping, eating, walking, cycling, street sports, workouts, flash mob, road safety awareness, women safety awareness, sanitation awareness etc. will be organized in it. On February 26, there will also be Passenger Day from 10 am to 1 pm.

Vehicle parking and street vendors will be given space

JE Pradeep of the Municipal Corporation said that the shopkeepers and street vendors of Sadar Bazar are being made aware of the program and instructions have been given not to encroach till the program is organized. If a shopkeeper or a street hawker encroaches on the road, action will be taken against him. During the program, planning is being done to provide vehicle parking and space to the street vendors. JE Pradeep told that only the approved street vendors will be given space by the Municipal Corporation, without the permission, the street vendors will not be given any place to keep their place.
