IMD Rainfall Alert! Storm and rain will cause devastation in these states, high alert issued

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain, hailstorm and strong winds in many parts of the country in the next 24 hours. Alert has been issued in many parts of UP due to storm and rain. Alert on Delhi also.

IMD Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain, hailstorm and strong winds in many parts of the country in the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has said that there may be heavy rains along with thunderstorms in UP. This trend may continue till April 15 in western Indian parts including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of strong storm and lightning for Delhi-NCR. People have been advised to stay indoors. Apart from this, there will be heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh and Rajasthan also.

According to the official release of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of storm, lightning and rain with strong winds in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. During this period, winds can blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour. This sequence will continue till 14th and 15th April. There is also a possibility of snowfall in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The IMD has further predicted that there is a possibility of rain with lightning and strong winds over Madhya Pradesh and western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and Rajasthan on Sunday.

Rain showers and strong winds in Delhi

The weather department’s forecast for New Delhi is that Sunday will be cloudy, with light rain and thunderstorms. Also, strong winds will blow at a speed of 35-45 km per hour. On Monday, April 15, generally cloudy sky with very light drizzle and strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kilometers per hour are expected.

Yellow alert in Delhi-NCR

IMD has issued an advisory for thunderstorm and lightning in Delhi-NCR region. In which people have been advised to stay indoors. They also recommended closing windows and doors and avoiding unnecessary travel during this period to ensure safety.

The IMD has predicted that the maximum temperature in Delhi on Sunday is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may drop to around 20 degrees Celsius. The effect of western disturbance will last till 18-19 April. By then the temperature will not reach 40 degrees Celsius. He said that after April 18, the temperature will start increasing day by day.

Heat wave warning in these states

The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning in South Indian states till April 17. The weather will remain hot in Kerala, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Heat wave may occur in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on Sunday, Gujarat and coastal Karnataka on April 17 and Gangetic West Bengal on April 16 and 17. Heat wave is likely over Odisha and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during April 15-17.
