IRCTC update : Now platform tickets will be available at these stations for only Rs 10

In order to follow social distance and corona rules and to control the crowd, the railways had increased the price of platform tickets at various places.

Indian Railways has given some relief to the passengers amidst the deteriorating condition of the global pandemic Corona virus in the country . At all railway stations of Danapur railway division, including Patna Junction of Bihar, platform tickets are available for just Rs 10 as before.




DRM Prabhat Kumar was quoted in local media reports as saying that the way the pace of Corona is slowing down and the situation is becoming like before the epidemic, keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, the Railways is giving relaxation in the rules.

According to him, “This arrangement has been implemented after consultation with the chairman late on Saturday, October 16, 2021.” In fact, when the railways started running trains during the Corona period, there was a lot of crowd at the stations in the beginning.

In order to follow social distance and corona rules and to control the crowd, the railways had increased the price of platform tickets at various places. In this sequence, the price of platform ticket was increased by Rs 50 during the Corona period at 11 stations of Danapur division.

However, a few days back, the Central Railway increased the platform ticket prices at several stations in Mumbai in view of the increasing rush during the festive season. For the platform ticket which used to cost Rs 10 earlier, people have to pay Rs 50.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus under Mumbai division, Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai and nearby Thane, Kalyan, Panvel stations currently have a platform ticket of Rs 50. The new rate came into effect from October 7, while it will remain in effect till further orders.

The Central Zone of the Railways had issued a statement in this regard saying, “This has been done to prevent overcrowding at platforms and railway stations and concourses and terminus during the festive season.”

These trains will be partially cancelled: According to the Southern Railway, at least four trains from Tamil Nadu to Kerala and Kerala to Tamil Nadu will be partially canceled on October 17 and 18. 06792 Palakkad – Tirunelveli Special Train will remain partially canceled between Punalur and Tirunelveli starting on 17.10.2021 between Sengottai and Kollam. Train No. 06791 Tirunelveli – Palakkad Special Train Special train journey commencing on 17.10.2021 will remain partially canceled between Tirunelveli and Punalur. Train No. 06102 Kollam – Chennai Egmore Special train journey will remain partially canceled on 18.10.2021 between Sengottai and Kollam.
