Today’s Weather: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for rain and lightning in Uttarakhand on October 9 and 10. Snowfall in the hilly areas has increased the chill in the plains.
IMD Update: Snowfall in the hilly areas of the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand has increased the cold in the plains. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for the hilly districts of Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Center in Dehradun, light rain with thundershowers is expected at some places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts on October 9.
The weather will remain dry in other lower regions of the state. No major weather changes are expected in the coming days. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in the five districts mentioned above on October 9th.
Weather Update for Remaining Districts
On October 10th, scattered rain is forecast in these five districts (Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar). After this, dry weather is expected in Uttarakhand for a long period.
Snowfall intensifies cold
The cold has intensified due to snowfall in the mountainous regions. On October 6th, the high peaks of Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib received the first snowfall of the season. A white blanket of snow has covered Badrinath Dham, creating a breathtaking view. Similarly, a thin layer of snow has settled in the valley of Hemkund Sahib. The snowfall has created an atmosphere of excitement among pilgrims and tourists at these pilgrimage sites.
