NMMS Scholarship Scheme 2021: Good News! 12000 rupees will be available on selection, avail benefits like this

In such a situation, there are speculations that in a few days the process of applying for this scholarship will start.




New Delhi. The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) was started in 2008 by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education (then Ministry of Human Resource Development). Under this financial help is provided to the financially weak meritorious students. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage poor children to pursue secondary education i.e. from class 9 to class 12 by providing an amount of Rs 12,000 annually.

The process of registration for this scholarship will start soon. The last date of application will be determined differently for different states. Notification in this regard has been issued on the official website https://scholarships.gov.in/. In such a situation, there are speculations that in a few days the process of applying for this scholarship will start.

Eligibility Criteria

1- The student is studying in class 9th with at least 55 percent marks in class 8, although a relaxation of 5 percent will be given for SC/ST students.

2- The student should be a regular student of a government, government aided or local body school.

3. The collective income of the student’s family should not exceed 1.5 lakh per annum.

Terms and Conditions

  • The student should not be taking advantage of any other scholarship scheme.
  • The applicant must have an account with any public sector bank or scheduled bank having core banking facilities.
  • The applicant must have secured a minimum of 60 percent marks in class 10 to continue with the scholarship.
  • However, a relaxation of 5 percent will be given to the SC/ST students.
  • Scholarship will not be given to students from outside the country.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected for this scholarship on the basis of written examination. For this, tests will be conducted by different states. Candidates can get more information by visiting the official website of the department.
