Guest houses and homestays will also not be allowed to serve non-vegetarian food. The state administration has clarified that this order will be strictly enforced and the area will be constantly monitored to prevent any violations.
Non-Veg Ban: The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday decided to ban non-vegetarian food in the Ayodhya Dham and Panchkosi Parikrama Marg area. The government says the move aims to maintain the religious and cultural sanctity of the entire area. According to sources, this ban will not be limited to shops, hotels, and restaurants. Zomato, Swiggy, and other online food delivery apps will also be prohibited from selling and ordering non-vegetarian food.
Big Government Decision
In addition, guest houses and homestays will also not be allowed to serve non-vegetarian food. The state administration has clarified that this order will be strictly enforced and the area will be continuously monitored to prevent any violations.
Ban imposed on hotels and shops as well
A ban on the sale of non-vegetarian food in hotels and shops had already been announced. However, until now, there was no ban on ordering non-vegetarian food online. The state administration said it had received numerous complaints from local residents in the area. Residents reported that some tourists were ordering non-vegetarian food through online apps, which hurt their religious sentiments. In response to these complaints, the Uttar Pradesh government has now extended this ban to online food delivery platforms.
Violations of the rules will result in strict action.
Manik Chandra, the state’s assistant food commissioner, told India Today that all shopkeepers, hotel owners, and vendors connected to online apps have been informed of this new order. He further stated that strict legal action will be taken against those violating this order.
