Amidst the Corona crisis, the central government has ordered a moratorium on the payment of enhanced DA to employees of government companies. An order banning the increased DA of employees of Central Public Sector Enterprises was issued by the Ministry of Heavy Industries on Thursday. The order issued by the ministry said that due to the crisis arising due to Corona, it has been decided to stop the payment of enhanced DA from 1 October. However, the increase in DA on 1 July 2020 will remain in force. Apart from this, the Ministry has also ordered a moratorium on DA to be increased from 1 January 2021 and 1 April 2021.

The Ministry has said in its decision that now the DA will be revived from July 1, 2021. Not only this, the Ministry has also clarified in its order that the ban on enhanced DA will continue from October 2020 to June 2021 and its arrears will not be given in future. This means that any loss caused to employees by payment of DA will not be repaid in future. Central public sector enterprises are called companies that come under the central government. The central government holds the largest stake in these companies. These companies include companies like Indian Oil, NTPC and Coal India.
