School Holiday Extended: Summer holidays will be extended again in government schools, notification issued

Summer Holidays in Bihar Government School: On the instructions of the Governor, his Principal Secretary Robert L Chongthu has written this letter to the Chief Secretary regarding holidays in government schools of the state.

Bihar News: In Bihar, the Education Department and Raj Bhavan seem to be facing each other once again. Recently there was summer vacation in government schools of Bihar from 15th April to 15th May. Schools have been opened from 16th May. However, in view of the heat in the state, a letter has now been issued from Raj Bhavan that schools should be closed.

In fact, Raj Bhavan has written a letter to Chief Secretary Brajesh Mehrotra on Monday (May 20) regarding extending the period of summer vacation in government schools of the state till the first week of June. On the instructions of Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, his Principal Secretary Robert L Chongthu has written this letter to the Chief Secretary which came to light on Tuesday (May 21). After this letter, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department KK Pathak may have to consider leave.

What is written in the letter issued?

This letter written on Monday states, “According to the information received, the summer vacation in schools was fixed by the Education Department only till May 15, 2024. Due to the scorching heat in the state and the opening of schools, the health of children is being adversely affected. Information about its impact is being received. The Governor has requested to extend it due to the extreme heat in the state and its adverse effects on the health of children.”

It is further written, “It is requested that the summer vacation of the schools of the state be kindly extended till the first week of June 2024 so that the children, parents and teachers studying in the schools can get relief from the problems faced by the scorching heat. ”

Let us tell you that schools are open from 16th May. In such a situation, once again after this letter from Raj Bhavan, it has to be seen what decision the Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department KK Pathak takes. Even before, a situation of conflict has been seen between Raj Bhavan and the Education Department.
