Going by the data, except for wearables, all other smart emerging tech products are sure to feature in our homes and lives in the coming days.

Are you done with your smartphones and ready to try a new gadget? The answer is not easy or rather it is easier to deny. Worth noting here that adopting smartphones with usual initial hiccups was largely a cakewalk for most of us.

This is evident from the fact that in about 15 odd years smartphones haven’t gone redundant. In fact, we have graduated from having a basic smartphone without a camera to more advanced ones that have as many as four cameras embedded and are even more powerful than a computer.

Currently, smartphones alone drive businesses of major companies like Apple, Samsung, and Motorola. Aside from smartphones, these tech-giants and several others have branched out to newer technologies like wearables, smart home devices and 4K TVs.

But do these new technologies match up to smartphones?

As per Statista, a data-analytics firm, 4K UHD TVs and wearables are most popular in the US after smartphones as these are the most sold new emerging tech products.

This year until now, 4K UHD TVs and wearables together accounted for about $20.2 billion worth of sales in the US.

Other emerging tech products that the data measured were Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, drones, smart homes and voice-enabled smart speakers.

Out of these, VR headsets have shown a 79 percent rise in sales worth $1.3 billion as compared to last year, with about four months still left in 2017.

Smart homes, 4K UHD TVs and voice-enabled smart speakers all registered over 50 percent of the growth in sales year-on-year in the US.

Going by the data, except for wearables, all other smart emerging tech products are sure to feature in our homes and lives in the coming days.

These new technologies are currently new to the game and are far behind matching up to over $70 billion sales of smartphones in North America alone.
However, the momentum of the sales looks set to match the rise of smartphones and become the next big things in the future.
