The ticket booking process of trains has started from today i.e. 19 September 2020. According to the information provided by the Ministry of Railways, tickets can be booked 10 days before the journey. The Ministry of Railways had said earlier this month that it would launch clone trains on routes where seats are filling up fast and for this reason, clone trains would be run on the basis of waitlist. The clone train will be involved in the operation just like the special train.

According to the Railways, the fare for 19 out of 20 pairs of clone trains will be equal to the Humsafar Express, while the fare of one Lucknow-Delhi Clone Special will be kept at par with the Jan-Shatabdi Express. Apart from this, Humsafar and Janshatabdi trains will also be used for their operation.

Since September 12, 80 new special trains have also been run. Reservation for this has started from 10 September. 80 new special trains are in addition to the 230 already running trains. In order to facilitate students in view of NEET and JEE exams, the Railways ran 20 pairs of trains from September 2 to 15.

Given the Corona virus, Western Railway is now running 150 new trains to cater to social distancing and reduce congestion in trains. Western Railway is already running 350 trains and is now running 150 more trains.
